Wow, this title is 112 years old this year. The flickers were very much considered a novelty then, with no regard to longevity or preservation. I'm sure the furthest thing from anyone's mind who worked on this film was that people would be watching it in the 21st century.
@@sandybulla5623 Unusual thought, I'd say. I had similar thoughts about the film series "Les Vampires" (1915-1916). I wondered if French soldiers ever saw that one and if they did then who of them managed to live long enough to see all ten films.
@@Rotionu Wow! That's an interesting thought as well. I would like to add on to that. Back in the late 60's-early 70's my father was stationed right outside Madrid, Spain at Torrejon Air Base. One summer we went all over the area in France where so much of the fighting in WW1 took place. Verdun, Metz, Caen, Chateau Therry, etc. My dad was a big WW1 & 2 buff. We visited a concrete bunker left over from WW1. I have never been in a place that had such negative energy & sadness. When I read your comment I suddenly thought if any of the men that had been in that place had seen what you have spoken of. How very strange, I hadn't thought of that place in years.
This film left me speechless.
Thanks @CCC!

And its all due to the 21st century that is curious about its 110-year old forebears.
I heard Mr. Glenn Frey say - " It's the lure of easy money It's got a very strong appeal. "
Thanx for sharing I enjoyed. ...movie n message👍👍💲💰can be dangerous
Hello Alan you got that right on the money🤗
ths has got to be the worlds oldest film. 112 years old!! Crazy!!
Great storytelling without exposition
Wow CCC, all the folks who sailed on the Titanic were still alive at the time this was made. Wonder how many saw this film?
Not many, I assume. It is an american movie, which means that most of Europeans didn't saw it then due to the lack of world wide distribution.
@@Rotionu You are right but it is still a strange thought.
